2025 Purple Power Policy Summit 

The NCNW (National Council of Negro Women) Purple Power Policy Summit II was a policy summit focused on voter engagement and empowerment. The summit aimed to increase voter turnout, particularly among Black women and young voters, and support legislation to address voter suppression.

Senator Weber Recognizes National Council of Negro Women

California State Senator Akilah Weber, M.D., recently recognized leaders from the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) on the Senate floor in March 2026, celebrating the organization’s 90th anniversary of advocacy and service. The NCNW, founded in 1935 by Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, focuses on empowering women of African descent.
